Faith Comes Through Seeing
We are excited to let you know that five children recently received glasses for the first time through the program in Peru. Each of them was examined by an opthamologist and fitted with brand new lenses and frames. They are ecstatic to be able to see clearly for the first time. Last week we shared about Jorge Chilavert’s experience in hearing for the first time (Faith Comes By Hearing – Paraguay). This week we extend the series to Faith Comes Through Seeing (Peru). Not only will these children in Peru be able to perform better in school, but they’ll be able to read God’s Word clearly and enjoy His creation around them in full, focused color. The five children send their appreciation and thanks to their sponsors for this great gift.
Malawi Prayer Request
Last week, we asked you to pray for Emmanuel Masamba’s second appointment with the U. S. Consulate’s office in Malawi regarding a visa to travel to the U. S. for the Children of Promise training conference, “Sponsorship to the Max.” Despite letters of explanation from our office and the Church of God in Malawi regarding the nature and importance of the trip, as well as all documentation required by the Consulate’s office, the U. S. officials again denied the visa request, saying the reason was not “credible.” While we are confused and disappointed with this decision, we are trusting that the Lord has this in His hands. Please pray with us for wisdom and guidance as we consider how to proceed.
Excitement Builds for “Sponsorship to the Max”
Plans are moving forward for the training conference in June. Directors from 23 countries are excited to come and learn, and we are thrilled to be able to welcome them. Session leaders are preparing for their conferences, and our staff members are finalizing meal arrangements, activities, lodging, and other conference details. A big “thank you” to our donors and supporters who have been giving sacrificially for this event to take place. At present, support stands at $51,000. We are still trusting for the remaining $14,000 to come in during the next two months. If you would like to support this effort through a credit card donation, you can do so by following these easy steps:
