We are pleased to report that the three children of Francky and Tania Desir (directors of House of Blessing orphanage in Haiti) were released late last evening by U. S. Immigration authorities into the custody of Lonnie Murphy.  The children are fine.  Please join us in thanking God for their release, and for sustaining them, their parents, and the Murphy’s through this difficult and exhausting time.

Call for Donations
Children of Promise is calling for donations for Haiti to be used for the immediate needs of food, clothing, medicines, and blankets, and the long-term needs of rebuilding homes and providing ongoing assistance for food and household items destroyed.

The first round of funds will be sent at the end of January.  In order for funds to be sent on January 31, donations should arrive in the Children of Promise office by Friday, January 29, 2010.  All funds received by that date will be delivered to Haiti at the end of the month.  Funds received after that date will be delivered on a date yet to be determined.

In the event that an excess of funds is received over the amount needed to provide the required assistance to Children of Promise children and families, the excess funds will be held in the Children of Promise Emergency Fund for future disaster relief and emergency situations involving COP children and their families.

Donations may be made through Children of Promise in the following ways:
