We are pleased to share with you that over $60,000 has been given since January 12 by you and a host of others who care deeply for the children and their families in Haiti. We are humbled by this outpouring of concern and love for the children – but not surprised. Children of Promise has wonderful, committed sponsors and friends who generously give whenever there is a need. We are so grateful for you and the host who join you in making sure that children receive the care they need. It is a privilege to partner with you on behalf of the children in Haiti, and indeed, in 23 countries around the world.

<trackback:ping>http://www.echildrenofpromise.org/DesktopModules/DnnForge%20-%20NewsArticles/Tracking/Trackback.aspx?ArticleID=54&PortalID=0&TabID=85</trackback:ping>
Three Haitian Children Released!

We are pleased to report that the three children of Francky and Tania Desir (directors of House of Blessing orphanage in Haiti) were released late last evening by U.
Our hearts continue to ache for the people of Haiti, especially the children. In an effort to keep our sponsors and friends informed of Children of Promise’s involvement in assisting those in Haiti, we share the following latest news.

*Francky, the husband of Tanya, director of House of Blessing, has been found and is safe. According to news from Lonnie Murphy, Francky was in town for his Biblical studies class and the vehicle he was driving had some problems, so he did not go to class. He was at the garage when the earthquake hit. The school building collapsed and the pastor friends he took to class have perished. He said 40 plus are dead from his class.

<trackback:ping>http://www.echildrenofpromise.org/DesktopModules/DnnForge%20-%20NewsArticles/Tracking/Trackback.aspx?ArticleID=47&PortalID=0&TabID=85</trackback:ping>
Haiti Earthquake Situation 1-13-10

Initial Information on the Situation in Haiti 1-13-10.

As many of you are aware, an earthquake of more than 7.0 magnitude hit Haiti on Tuesday, January 12. Damage and death are widespread. Estimates range from 100,000 to 500,000 deaths. These numbers have not yet been confirmed.

I’m sure you are concerned for our friend, Isaac Adrien, director of COP in Haiti, and for the children and their families in Callabasse and at the House of Blessing. I have attempted to phone Isaac several times today, but have not been able to get through. I have also emailed him, but have not received a response. Phone and email communication pathways are blocked due to damage and destruction.
