About Ebola and

COP Countries

We have received emails and phone calls in the COP office from concerned friends asking about the threat of Ebola to our sponsored children.  To alleviate your fears we wanted to let you know that, thankfully, there is no immediate threat to any of the COP sponsored children in Africa.

Our sponsored children on the continent of Africa live in Egypt, Ghana, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi, and Zambia  (countries represented in green on the map graphic).

The Ebola outbreaks are in the West African countries of Sierra Leone, Guinea, Liberia (represented in red on the map graphic).  There has been one documented case in Mali also (pink on the graphic).

As you can see from the map, the only COP country in West Africa is Ghana; all the rest of our COP countries are thousands of miles away in East Africa.

There have been no known cases of Ebola in Ghana to this date, so our children there are safe and not in danger; and the children in Egypt and the East African countries where COP ministers are not affected in any way by the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

We are grateful that all of our children are safe. Thank you for your concern.

Please join us in continuing to pray for the peoples of Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia and for the health workers and scientists who are working so hard to contain the disease, produce a vaccine, and care for those who are suffering.
