COP @ North American Convention of the Church of God
Excitement mounts in the Children of Promise office because in just a matter of days the 25 program directors from 23 different countries will arrive in Anderson for the Sponsorship to the Max conference. This event immediately precedes the North American Convention of the Church of God scheduled for June 26 – July 1, 2009.
Everyone is invited to attend the six conferences/events that Children of Promise will host at the convention. All conferences will take place on the Anderson University Campus and in the Church of God Ministries building at the corner of 5th Street and Chestnut in Anderson, Indiana. The schedule is:
Monday, June 29, 8:30 – 10:00 am, Patterson Room (Hardacre Hall)
Passion & Purpose: Volunteering for Children of Promise – Passionate Christians promote the Children of Promise ministry among our churches, in community groups, and at state events in their area. We will highlight their experiences, offer on-going training for present volunteers, and challenge conference attendees to consider joining the ranks of the Volunteer Network.

Leaving a Legacy for Children of Promise– Would you like your passion for helping children in need to continue into eternity? A charitable bequest enables you to further a ministry you hold dear long after you are gone. Come and hear how you can include Children of Promise as a part of your personal legacy through planned giving and the newly-established endowment.

Children of Promise Welcomes Program Directors from Around the Globe – Never before have the leaders of the Children of Promise sponsorship programs around the world congregated in one place at the same time. Come and welcome these dedicated servants who minister to children in need on a daily basis in 23 countries. Each direct will give an introduction to his/her program in a “world forum” setting. Hear from those who minister on the front lines with children in need, offering hope in the name of Christ through nutrition, education, health care, and spiritual nurture.

Hope Arrives: Creating Miracles in the Lives of Children (Session 1 of 2) – Sponsorship program directors from Central America, South American, the Caribbean, and the Middle East will share about how the care and concern of a sponsor brings hope to a child’s life. Hear about how the challenges are faced in each country as well as stories about how the lives of children are forever changed through the sponsorship programs in these areas.
Wednesday, July 1, 8:30 – 10:00 am, Church of God Ministries Auditorium
Hope Arrives: Creating Miracles in the Lives of Children (Session 2 of 2) – Sponsorship program directors from Asia, including Russia, and Africa will share about how the care and concern of a sponsor brings hope to a child’s life. Hear about how the challenges are faced in each country as well as stories about how the lives of children are forever changed through the sponsorship programs in these areas.
Wednesday, July 1, 1:30 – 3:00 pm, Church of God Ministries Auditorium
Celebrating, Honoring & Encouraging the Messengers of Hope – As the leaders of children’s ministries around the world prepare to depart for their lands of service, join us in honoring, encouraging, blessing, and praying for them. The reception is open to everyone.
