COP Sponsor Team Arrives Home from Uganda
Associate Director, Linda Mason, along with Wendy Weeks (Wisconsin), Monica Carrier (West Virginia), and Juliette Wilson (South Carolina) have arrived home safely from their visit to the children in Uganda. Over 500 children were interviewed, homes were visited, and site visits were conducted in 10 of the 12 areas where the program operates. Thank God for safety and for the wonderful work done by the Upendo program in the lives of the children.
COP Facebook Reaches 530

Maxfields Visit Children in Ghana and Russia
Dr. Paul Maxfield, Executive Director, and Dr. Brenda Maxfield, former Co-coordinator, visited the children and programs in Ghana and Russia in July 2009. Children were interviewed, meetings were held with committee members and volunteers, and program guidelines and financial records were reviewed. Both programs are doing well. Here are a few photos taken during those visits.
Special greetings are sent to all the sponsors of Russian and Ghanaian children.
So many, many children asked us to bring you these greetings. They love and appreciate you so much!

Please Pray for the Following:
►For the family, church, Safina staff, and sponsor of Tonkei Oloidoso, sponsored boy from Tanzania, who was tragically killed in a truck accident.
►For the children in Egypt, and for Janette Nessim, director.
►For Maxim, a young sponsored boy in Chelyabinsk, Russia, who is facing multiple health challenges.
►For Joshua Galvez (The Philippines), a sponsored boy suffering from leukemia.
►For the upcoming trip to Ecuador in October to visit the sponsored children. Joining Children of Promise staff (Dr. Paul Maxfield, Executive Director, and Vicky Creamer, Sponsorship Associate), will be a group from across the U. S. representing the Women of the Church of God.
►For all concerned as God prepares a couple to work with the Safina ministry in Tanzania. Thank God for laying this ministry on their hearts.
►For follow-up of the training conference held in June. Pray this week for the COP volunteers and church leaders in Myanmar who are meeting to review and discuss the topics and information shared with the directors at “Sponsorship to the Max.” Pray that God will continue to use the conference in a mighty way in the lives of children.
►For children in hot, humid climates who are sleeping without mosquito netting. (Nets are the most effective prevention of malaria.)
►For the Upendo staff and family of Prisca Kayom, a sponsored girl in Uganda, who passed away from malaria.
►For Paul Maxfield, Executive Director, as he visits the children and programs in Colombia, Peru, and Paraguay in October.
►For volunteers around the U. S. who are sharing the message of changed lives through sponsorship.
