Thailand

Thailand is located in Southeast Asia. It is a unified kingdom that was established in the mid-14th century.  Known as Siam until 1939, Thailand is the only country in Southeast Asia never to have been taken over by a European power.Map of Thailand

The population in Thailand is 75% Thai, 14% Chinese, with the remaining 11% a mixture.  Ninety-five percent of the people are Buddhists, 3.8% are Muslims, .05% are Christians, .01% are Hindus, and .06% are other religions.

Thailand boasts a tropical climate, rainy and warm during the wet season and mild and dry during the dry season. Over 32% of the land is arable.

Children of Promise in Thailand

In this beautiful land, Children of Promise has four different projects. Each of these projects is located in rural areas, where the children are given food, basic health care, a chance to go to school, and Christian nurture through local ministries of the Church of God.
