Thank you for your interest in becoming part of Children of Promise's Volunteer Network. The Volunteer Network is a vital group of volunteers who work in a self-directed manner in finding opportunities to share Children of Promise. These opportunities are found in churches, Sunday school classes, women's and men's groups, conferences, retreats, conventions, camp meetings, and with individuals.
Serving with Children of Promise is a serious endeavor. It requires commitment and follow-through. Each member of the Volunteer Network works at securing sponsors for children as well as finding donors and donations for Children of Promise. With the help and teamwork of this very special group of people, the ministry of Children of Promise has been equipped to grow and to reach an ever-increasing number of children.
Children of Promise, Inc., is the Church of God child sponsorship program. Many children in developing countries depend on this ministry for food, education, medical care, and spiritual nurture. As part of this team, your efforts and care affect children all over the world.
We encourage each member of our Volunteer Network to:
- Pray regularly for Children of Promise: the staff (both in the U.S. and overseas—including all volunteers), the children, the sponsors, the ministry in general.
- To seek out opportunities and to present Children of Promise a minimum of four times a year with the goal of securing sponsors and/or donors.
(These activities can include such things as speaking to churches and church groups; setting up a display or table at camp meetings, conventions, or retreats; placing displays or posters at local businesses; speaking with individuals about sponsoring or donating.)
- To participate in any campaigns or special emphases of Children of Promise.
- To keep the home office informed of your activities for Children of Promise.
- To represent Children of Promise professionally and with Christian principles.
Length of Commitment
We ask our volunteers to commit to a minimum of one year of ministry. After this year is successfully completed, it is our hope that the volunteer would continue serving on an on-going yearly basis.
Training
After submitting the following application and acceptance into the Volunteer Network team, a packet of training and promotional materials will be sent to the volunteer.
Reimbursement
At this time, all Network activities are considered voluntary. While Children of Promise will provide all promotional materials, any other expenses incurred will be the responsibility of the volunteer. Most of our volunteers serve in their geographical area and in their circle of influence, so if there are any extra costs, they are minimal.
If you would like to be considered to be part of the Volunteer Network team, please complete the following application.
Thank you, and God bless you!
