1926–2006

Richard Long was born on May 4, 1926 in Charleston, West Virginia. He graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in 1943 and attended Anderson College for one year. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He loved to travel in his recreational vehicle. He was account manager in package design and sales for Container Corporation for 38 years, before retiring in March of 1985.

Richard was a member of Park Place Church of God and the Goodwill Sunday School class. He was deeply devoted to children. His heart always appreciated the work of Children of Promise. Richard’s love and support of children around the world was deeply admired and will be missed.

Richard will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He will be especially missed by his wife of 29 years, Ida Marie (Siemers) Hardacre Long.
