Please read the latest news regarding Nepal earthquake assistance.

May 19, 2015:  We have learned from the Children of Promise director in Nepal, Rev. Bir Bahadur, that 21 children’s homes have been seriously affected by the earthquake.  Sixteen (16) homes have been destroyed completely in Central Nepal, and five (5) need repair.  The homes will be constructed with concrete and rock foundations, with wooden walls and tin roofs.

These are all children in the special scholarship program in which Children of Promise provides school supplies to children in very remote areas.  Without this assistance, the children could not attend school.

We are waiting on final figures regarding the costs of rebuilding and repairing the children’s homes.  As soon as those estimates arrive, we will be extending a call for donations for Nepal earthquake assistance.

Please join us in continuing to pray for these families.

May 15, 2015:  We are happy to report that we have heard directly from Rev. Amos Moore in Nepal regarding the Children of Promise families.  Amos writes on May 14th, “All the Children of COP are doing well.”  None of the sponsored children were injured or killed.  For this, we give thanks!

We are still awaiting news of the repair and reconstruction efforts needed.  Once we have specifics details of our sponsored children’s families’ needs, we will be reporting that here, on Facebook, and in an email blast to all sponsors.  We are standing ready to assist once we know exactly what is needed.

Thank you for your prayers for the children, families, church members, and citizens of Nepal.
