Warm greetings from the Church of God in Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa!
Côte d’Ivoire is a diverse country, made up of over 60 ethnic groups, each with their own language or dialect. This diversity is reflected throughout the nation in communities where Church of God congregations exist to bring the love and hope of Jesus to their neighbors.
Many children in these neighborhoods lack vital resources: access to basic health care needs, the opportunity to attend school, and even basic necessities, such as running water in their homes. According to UNICEF, over 12 percent of children born in Côte d’Ivoire do not live to celebrate their fifth birthday and many of them die of preventable diseases, such as malaria, measles or diarrhea. Approximately 38 percent of children are not enrolled in primary school (UNICEF 2008-2011) and, instead, many work in fields where exports such as cocoa, coffee or palm oil are produced.
The needs are great, but the hope and love of Christ is greater! We are honored to work with Children of Promise and the Church of God in Côte d’Ivoire to bring this hope and love in the tangible form of nutrition, health care and education to Ivorian children.
Join us in bringing lasting change in the physical and spiritual lives of Ivorian children!
All for the Glory of God,
Bobby and Jenny Mihsill
